Artistic Director Dunja Jocić

Dunja Jocic is a Serbian/Dutch choreographer, working from Amsterdam. She was born in Belgrade (former Yugoslavia) to a family of filmmakers. Before starting her dance training at the Codarts dance academy in Rotterdam, where she graduated in 2002, Jocic was a professional rhythmic gymnast and a member of the Yugoslav Olympic team.

creative partner and Business Manager MARINUS GROOTHOF

After completing his cinematography studies at the Netherlands Film Academy in 2004, Marinus dedicated himself to writing and directing films. His 2009 debut film, ‘Sunset From A Rooftop,’ was shortlisted for the Academy Awards. His 2015 film, ‘The Sky Above Us,’ premiered simultaneously in over twenty cinemas across Europe. In addition to this, he has been actively involved in various dance theater productions as a dramaturge, concept developer, and creative producer. In 2022, his first dance performance under his direction premiered at ITA in Amsterdam.

Lighting designer Pavla Beranova

She has always been interested in everything related to light. Beams, lenses, cameras, fireworks, painting, electrical circuits and darkness. Even today, she continues to explore light in many forms. She collaborates with architects and designers, works on exhibition lighting, stage lighting and light installations. For several years Pavla worked as a lighting designer at ACT lighting design studio in Brussels. Now she lives in Prague and travels across Europe to join creative teams from different countries.

Composer Renger Konings

Renger Koning is a Dutch (film) composer who has won two Buma Awards. One in 2017 for best filmscore for ‘Bezness as Usual’ directed by Alex Pitstra and the other one in 2022 for ‘De Panter’ a contemporary dance production from choreographer Dunja Joçic. He is currently scoring ‘The Occupant’ up for release end 2023.

Sound Technician Seb Jongejans

Seb Jongejans

In 1997, Seb graduated from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague as a sound technician, and since then, Seb has been working as a freelance technician for theater productions. In addition to his work as a sound technician, he has been working as a technical coordinator since 2010, in collaboration with TOT bv. In this role, they assist foreign productions coming to the Netherlands. They also coordinate Dutch companies and festivals (Dutch Dance Days, Flamenco Biennial, etc.). Seb has developed a broad technical knowledge within the theater industry and enjoy collaborating with creators during the creative process to then translate it into technology.

Performer Kalin Morrow

Kalin Morrow

Kalin Morrow is a U.S.-born performer and dancer based in the Netherlands, currently working with Dunja Jocić in The Previous Owner. She has previously worked in Jocić’s Arcus Cloud, De Panter, O/A/E and Het Gras Hier is Groener. Morrow was a rehearsal director and dancer with Cooperativa Maura Morales and worked with Ryan Djojokarso, Edan Gorlicki’s Inter|Actions, Compagnie Black Sheep-Johanna Faye, La Biennale di Venezia (under director Marie Chouinard) with Irina Baldini, Joaquin Collado Parreño and Chloe Chignell, Itzik Galili, Menghan Lou, Club Guy & Roni, No)one. Art House, BODYTRAFFIC, Wideman/Davis Dance and Konzert Theater Bern, among others. She teaches throughout Europe and internationally to companies and schools and is a guest teacher at the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Expanded Contemporary Program.

writer Barbi Markovic

Born in 1980 in Belgrade, she studied German studies and has been living in Vienna since 2006. In 2011/2012, she served as a writer-in-residence in Graz. In 2009, Markovic made waves with her Thomas Bernhard-inspired novel “Ausgehen” (Going Out). Her novel “Superheldinnen” (Superheroines) was published in 2016, for which she received the Alpha Literature Prize, the promotional award of the Adelbert von Chamisso Prize, and in 2019, the Priessnitz Prize. In 2017, Barbi Markovic participated in the Bachmann Prize reading, and in 2018, “Superheldinnen” was performed at the Volkstheater in Vienna. She has authored numerous short stories, plays, and radio dramas. Her most recent work, “Die verschissene Zeit” (The Crappy Time), was published by Residenz Verlag in 2021.

Photographer Jelena Jankovic

Is from Belgrade with a strong artistic vision. Through her work, she explores human nature and psychological aspects of relationships through a wide spectrum of photographic genres – from documentary, theater, fashion, and portrait to experimental photography, combining different techniques and media. Her projects are created by researching people, movements, and emotions through a subjective approach to the topic she works on.
