Bird tells the story of a young boy’s relationship with his pet bird and his opera diva mother, who leaves him on his own to play, dream, and possibly get into trouble.
Bird premiered at the Netherlands Film Festival 2015 and competed for a Golden Calf. The film has been screened at the Filmforum at the Ludwig Museum in Cologne (Germany), Dance on Camera festival in New York (US) and the Dead by Dawn festival in Edinburgh, (Scotland). The Bird was awarded the Cinedance Public Award in 2016 in Amsterdam (Netherlands).
Bird is supported by the Dutch Cultural Media Fund, the Performing Arts Fund NL and NTR in cooperation with Cinedans.
